Presenting the vinyl edition of “Behold the Unlighted,” the sophomore EP from HEX. Mastered specifically for the 12″ format and pressed at 45 RPM for optimal sound quality, this is the definitive way to experience twenty minutes of atmospheric doom.

The Music:
Three tracks of descending darkness, thematically connected and sonically relentless:

As Darkness Descends Upon You

Impending Doom Towards Darkness

…And Thus Spoke Darkness

Total running time: 20 minutes

Vinyl-Specific Mastering:
While the CD version delivers its own intensity, the vinyl release has been taken to another level. Patrick W. Engel of Temple of Disharmony—renowned for his mastering work with ASPHYX, TIATAM, PARADISE LOST, GRAVE MIASMA, and countless others—has crafted a专属 master for this 45 RPM pressing. The result is improved depth, wider dynamics, and a warmth that only analog can provide.

Production:
Recorded, engineered, and mixed at the legendary Black Storm Studios by Ekaitz Garmendia (SIJJIN, NUMEN, LEGEN BELTZA). The perfect foundation for Engel’s mastering work.

I didn’t even notice when the other song began. A song where evil rises. That’s how I would call it, because the energy is really evil good and heavy. It’s slower than the previous one but no less good. I can say there are some oriental guitar riffs which are really a good fit here.

I would like more than 3 songs to get a full picture of how far they can go. However, they are definitely worth your attention!!

Big booming doomy riffs spliced together with mid paced death metal drums and tremolo picking this is straight out of the Bolt Thrower playbook – hooky, crushing and lots of fun.
