Following the path carved by “God Has No Name,” HEX returns with “Behold the Unlighted,” a twenty-minute journey into the abyss. This EP is not a departure—it’s a descent. Deeper. Darker. More atmospheric. More devastating.

It is quite classical Death / Doom Metal, taking me back to the early nineties, as we, or at least I don’t stumble across that often these days, so it is actually quite refreshing to get 3 tracks as these served.

Un disco notable -y en esta ocasión no es un tópico- que me ha dejado con ganas de más. De mucho más. Hex han conseguido con Behold the Unlighted un trabajo oscuro y tenebroso, variado y absolutamente tocado por la varita mágica de la inspiración.

La Mirada Negra –
Puede dejar con ganas de más, pero en los tres temas bañados de oscuridad que la banda nos ofrece hay suficientes detalles como para que no hablemos de una obra de escucha ligera. Le sigo encontrando matices a medida que la vuelvo descubrir. Además, uno queda atrapado en un submundo creado por el ambiente que envuelve a los temas con sutiles interludios creadores de una atmósfera que envuelve todo el disco.

Si con solamente tres temas han sido capaces de transmitirnos toda esa fuerza oscura llena de melancolía, qué no serán capaces de darnos en un futuro próximo. En tiempos aciagos y decadentes, nada mejor que HEX para dejarnos arrastrar a las sombras y contemplar cómo la luz se apaga.
